Summer Climbing Camp

Itinerary:

First day meeting location is at the Upper Parking Lot. You may ask the park attendant for directions. (Campers need to pay the entrance fee to the park every day or purchase a yearly membership. -- a family yearly membership is the best way to safe money for multiple visits.)

Pickup location at the end of the first day is at the Upper Parking Lot.

At the end of each day, the instructor will let you know the agenda and meeting/pickup location for the next day, as the schedule will be adjusted based on weather forecaste and participants' progresses.

Rattlesnake Point Facility Information:

There are water taps, public washrooms, outhouses and a shower facility in the park.  The hike from the parking lot to the cliff is about 5 minutes. The cliff is 70 to 90 feet high.

Park camping fees can be found here: https://www.conservationhalton.ca/activities/camping/. Zen Climb will reserve a campsite based on the number of campers.

Getting to Rattlesnake Point:

If you wish to carpool with another participant, please let us know. We will introduce you to each other for you to make arrangement with each other. Disclaimer: Zen Climb does not warrant the safety and reliability pertaining carpool. You assume all risks related to carpool and release Zen Climb from any and all liability from this arrangement.

Equipment and Preparation:

Zen Climb provides all climbing equipment except climbing shoes (climbing shoes size 5 and up are available for rent.).

If you have climbing equipment and camping gear, we recommend that you bring them to your program, so you will feel more comfortable using them.

Zen Climb provides all equipment and resources needed for activities in the Adventure Leadership Development camp.

All campers will be assigned homework before and during the camp week.

Weather Kit - Sun lotion, mosquito repellent, sun glasses, rain jacket in case it rains.

Clothing - loose fitting clothing made of synthetic materials for easy movement and quick dry; old hiking/walking shoes or boots or rock shoes for tough wearing on rock. Put your jewelry and artificial finger/toe nails away.  Pull your long hair back to avoid potential interference with rappelling and climbing.

A: Yes. Your lead instructor is certified by American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA), or Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) or, by Zen Climb through its vigorous certification process that includes practice teaching with real clients in addition to a series of training courses based on the standard practice of AMGA or ACMG.

Q: What is the instructor to students ratio?

A: One instructor teaches upto 6 clients learning to climb with us first time.
