Feedback on Sport Lead Climbing

Feedback on Sport Lead Climbing

You have learned to sport lead outdoors from friends or Youtube, and have sport led outdoors a few times.  You wonder if what you have learned are all correct, and you want to make sure what you are doing -- cleaning the anchor, setting up for top-roping and so on -- is proper and up to current risk management standards.

This feedback session is for you!

In this 2.5-hour session, an instructor will watch you climbing and belaying in a single-pitch route setting, and provide you feedback. You will also have access to the video lessons that we use for our Sport Lead Climbing and Rappelling course.

Pre-requisites: Having done sport lead climbing outdoors including cleaning anchors for at least three times.

Where: Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area at 7200 Appleby Line, Milton, ON L9T 2Y1.

Meeting Spot: Go to the Upper Parking Lot. From there, follow the Vista Adventure Trail  -- a wide dirt trail that begins at the right of the outhouse (not the paved road going down hill) for 3 minutes to our registration desk in front of the Pinnacle Lookout near the staircase.

Time: 2.5 hours on the 4th Sunday of every month.  Please book ahead of time. No walk-ins.

Fee: $150/person+HST

Gear: You will bring own sport lead climbing gear including climbing rope, quick draws and belaying device. We can lend you a helmet if you don't have one, and slings or biners as deemed necessary for the review. Please feel free to bring all the gear you have as we may advice you how to properly use them.

What to wear: Closed-toe shoes with non-slipery soles for hiking and rock shoes for climbing.
